Case Study - Street Planters - Bristol
Coronavirus has presented the retail and hospitality industry with a number of new challenges, and at SLPW, we love nothing more than a challenge!
Outdoor seating areas have become a necessity for bars and restaurants all over the country, and where a garden or terrace isn't an option, an inventive solution is often required. Bristol, as well as other city and town councils, decided to utilise space on the streets outside a number of businesses however there was a problem - where there are roads, there are cars! Initially, large crash barriers were installed on the road, and although very practical, they aren't the most attractive items of street furniture.
The solution was to replace these barriers with some bespoke street planters. These robust yet eye catching planters discourage parking, and clearly define boundaries between premises. Having chunky feet raising the base 100mm from the floor gives them a modern look, and also assists in transport and installation as they can be lifted by pallet forks and pump trucks with ease.
The result was an outdoor space that was safer and more appealing to customers with one café owner commenting that the street had a new-found European feel.
Although not required on this project, these planters can be personalised and branded in one of many ways. We can add reflective banding, signage, router company names and logos, or included coloured sections to fit a number of colour schemes. Give us a call to discuss the huge range of options we can offer your organisation.
